Paradise Costs:
A Victim’s Daughter Fights Back
Against Elder Abuse |
| |
This interactive book and website urges Americans to STOP ELDER ABUSE NOW by supporting passage of the EJA now before both Houses of Congress. It also urges a continuation of support and action after the EJA passes so that this law may be amended, implement and enforced.
Our society changes slowly, therefore, this interactive site and book raising consciousness about a national social ill is a wake up call. It’s one that was encouraged by social workers and attorneys witnessing this story unfold. When there was no hope to save the victim, they urged this tragic personal plight be taken to the nation.
A grim picture has been painted by an article in the Journal of the American Medical Association (November 2002). In it, JAMA stated that it will take 30-40 years BEFORE awareness of elder abusebecomes what awareness of child abuse is now.
It’s up to us to change that projection. Information is powerful. Action is imperative. Please feel free to share the reality writing letters and petitions that can be downloaded from this site. Ask your community newspaper, your house of worship, your physician and everyone else you can think of to make copies of those documents available to the public.
Paradise Costs will supply any legitimate newsletter, newspaper, magazine, website, etc. with a free by-lined article in an effort to raise awareness of elder abuse, neglect and exploitation.
We have articles of varying lengths (300, 600 or more words). Please contact us for a selection and additional information. Thank you.
