Excerpt from Paradise Costs

“June 6, 2006 would have been my father’s 85th birthday. We, as a family, needed to find healing and closure. It was certainly obvious, after all this time, that the only way to come to terms with Dad’s death was to face the possibility of foul play. We decided to go forward and have his lock of hair tested by forensic experts.
We braced ourselves for whatever the findings would be, but we were ill-prepared for what the report revealed.
My father’s hair was analyzed utilizing highly specialized scientific instruments. Hair analysis is gaining in popularity due, in part, to hair’s resistance to alterations and a zero percentage of false positives. I was told that the testing was done twice to ensure accuracy.
The forensic expert who performed the examination is the Director of the Toxicology Department at a prestigious medical school at a major university. His lab is licensed by the United States Department of Justice and he’s qualified to testify as an expert witness.
He explained the testing would reveal what, if any, chemicals or drugs my father had ingested up to six months before his death.”

The actual test results appear in both the download and soft-cover edition of Paradise Costs. |
